Base Salary
$46 - $56/yr
Responsibilities
- Write secure, readable, and maintainable server-side code for small to moderately scoped features.
- Participate in software development lifecycle activities, especially coding, testing, debugging, and launching.
- Build and consume GraphQL APIs and maintain data structures and backend services.
- Write and execute unit and integration tests and troubleshoot defects.
- Work with relational databases, write basic queries, and support data access layers.
- Participate in code reviews and document technology changes and technical information.
- Provide troubleshooting and support for previously developed solutions.
- Participate in cross-functional discussions and communicate clearly with development team members.
Requirements
- Require 1–2 years of related software or backend development experience, including internships, co-ops, or academic projects.
- Require foundational proficiency in JavaScript and/or GraphQL and the ability to write functional, testable code.
- Require familiarity with version control systems such as Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Require a basic understanding of relational databases, including MySQL, and web services or APIs such as REST or GraphQL.
- Require understanding of data structures, algorithms, and the software development lifecycle.
- Require a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with AWS and CI/CD pipeline tools such as GitHub Actions is a plus.
- Bilingual Japanese is a plus but not required.
- Require strong verbal and written communication skills, teamwork, willingness to learn, and ability to apply feedback.
