Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and support multi-tier applications handling real-time audio processing and transcription at scale.
- Develop backend services and frontend applications integrating audio streaming, real-time transcription, and generative AI-powered summarization.
- Build desktop applications with Electron.js and integrate WebSocket-based streaming and browser media capabilities.
- Collaborate with an agile scrum team to prioritize technical initiatives and align deliverables with business objectives.
- Design for resilience, observability, scalability, monitoring, and production reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex multi-tier applications, desktop systems, and WebSocket connections.
- Use AI coding tools including Copilot, Windsurf, and Claude throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Electron.js, with hands-on desktop application development experience.
- Experience with WebSocket protocols, real-time data handling, browser Media APIs, and audio streaming technologies.
- Proven experience with AWS Transcribe Streaming, WebSocket integration, PCM/Opus audio encoding, and streaming response handling.
- Knowledge of OAuth 2.0/OIDC authentication, secure token management, and Electron security practices.
- Experience with Koa, Jest, and k6 for building and validating production-grade applications.
- Proficiency in stream processing, audio buffer management, backpressure handling, and memory optimization.
- Familiarity with modern development and deployment practices.
- Preferred experience includes WebEx API/SDK, audio processing, WASAPI, Electron packaging and code signing, AWS services, Java Spring Boot, load testing, and observability tools.
