Base Salary

$155k - $175k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver Java backend services for the Party & Account System supporting registration, KYC workflows, and brokerage account lifecycle management.
  • Design and implement new account types from API ingestion through validation, data storage, and event publishing.
  • Build and maintain REST services and Kafka-driven asynchronous processors for equities, options, and fixed-income account operations.
  • Own integrations with InteliClear, FIS, DTCC ACAT, and BetaNXT tax reporting systems.
  • Translate KYC, W-8/W-9, and FINRA requirements into precise, testable system behavior with cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor EKS, Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis, and Kafka production systems and diagnose latency, throughput, resiliency, and consistency issues.
  • Maintain Tier-1 API availability and meet the stated 150 ms target and SLA requirements.

Requirements

  • Experienced Java backend engineering experience is required.
  • Ability to design and implement production-grade backend services and account lifecycle systems.
  • Experience with REST services, Kafka-driven asynchronous processing, distributed systems, and production monitoring.
  • Ability to translate regulatory and business requirements into precise, testable system behavior.
  • Experience with internal shared libraries, Maven multi-module repositories, and JFrog Artifactory is a nice-to-have.
  • Familiarity with LLMs, agents, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, and AI application frameworks is a nice-to-have.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
  • Applicants must be based in the New York City metro area or another specified eligible metro; this role is not a fit for applicants outside those metros.
