Responsibilities
- Define, measure, and uphold SLOs and error budgets for critical services.
- Design and operate highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure on GCP and Kubernetes for high-throughput, latency-sensitive workloads.
- Build observability for metrics, logs, tracing, and alerting while reducing alert noise.
- Lead incident response, conduct blameless postmortems, and drive recurring-issue remediation.
- Write tools, services, and automation in Go, Python, or similar languages to reduce manual operational work.
- Own capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost efficiency as traffic grows.
- Partner with product, backend, and data teams on production readiness, resilient architecture, and progressive release practices.
- Participate in on-call and improve its sustainability.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience keeping large-scale, cloud-native production systems reliable.
- Strong production experience with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes, including behavior under load and failure modes.
- Practical experience with SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and incident management.
- Strong software development skills in Go, Python, Rust, or similar, with experience shipping maintainable tools or services.
- Experience with Terraform, cloud APIs, Grafana, VictoriaLogs, PagerDuty, Argo CD, and GitHub Actions.
- Experience operating databases in production and understanding networking, event messaging, and distributed-systems failure modes.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux, networking, and application behavior.
- Full business proficiency in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
