Responsibilities
- Design and develop production automotive embedded systems spanning MCU firmware and SoC software using C/C++.
- Translate vehicle-level requirements into software architectures covering component boundaries, interfaces, communication protocols, data flows, timing, diagnostics, and degraded-mode behavior.
- Design interfaces between real-time MCU applications and SoC services supporting driver controls, alerts, chimes, lighting, haptics, and situational awareness.
- Debug cross-domain issues involving MCU firmware, vehicle networks, IPC, SoC services, operating-system behavior, electrical interfaces, and downstream applications.
- Own major vehicle features from concept and design through implementation, integration, vehicle validation, production launch, and field maintenance.
- Collaborate with systems, electrical, HMI, ADAS, platform, supplier, and vehicle integration teams through bring-up, integration, validation, and launch.
- Improve build, test, debugging, simulation, profiling, and developer-workflow tooling.
- Drive unit, software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, integration, performance, and fault-injection testing.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on system design, C/C++ development, and cross-domain debugging.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience developing and shipping embedded software for production products.
- Strong C/C++ development experience on both microcontroller and SoC-based platforms.
- Experience with real-time or resource-constrained MCU software, including RTOS applications, board-support packages, device drivers, peripherals, or low-level communication stacks.
- Experience with SoC environments such as Embedded Linux, QNX, or Yocto, including IPC and system resource management.
- Demonstrated system design and software architecture skills involving requirements decomposition, interfaces, and executable technical plans.
- Experience debugging and testing integrated embedded systems with in-circuit debuggers, traces, bus analyzers, profilers, SiL, or HiL.
- Experience with version control, code review, build systems, static analysis, and CI/CD workflows.
- Preferred experience creating developer tooling, build infrastructure, automated test frameworks, simulation environments, diagnostics, or debugging utilities.
- Preferred experience delivering embedded software for production automotive systems and vehicle program milestones.
- Preferred experience with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, SOME/IP, DBC, or UDS and with cross-domain communication between safety-critical or real-time MCU functions and SoC services.
- Preferred familiarity with ASPICE, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, or MISRA C/C++.
