Responsibilities
- Design and implement custom test automation frameworks for functional, performance, and security testing.
- Develop reusable libraries, plugins, CLI tools, scalable test harnesses, reporting integrations, and CI/CD integrations.
- Automate test workflows using Java and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Containerize testing tools with Docker and orchestrate test environments using Kubernetes.
- Implement observability in test tools using New Relic, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
- Partner with QE, SRE/DevOps, and development teams to address testing challenges.
- Provide governance, documentation, training, and support for testing tool adoption and extension.
- Evaluate emerging testing technologies and contribute to automation and quality engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in quality engineering and tools development or a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong Java programming skills focused on tooling and automation.
- Proficiency with functional, UI, API, performance, and security testing tools.
- Experience integrating testing tools with test management, issue tracking, reporting, analytics, CI/CD, code quality, and device farm platforms.
- Experience with test data management, mocking frameworks, and service virtualization tools.
- Strong command of SQL and NoSQL databases and publish-subscribe systems such as Kafka.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, gRPC, WebSockets, and event-driven or asynchronous architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and expertise in Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, and system-level debugging.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, root cause analysis, debugging, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with AI/ML-based test generation or test impact analysis and developer experience or internal platform engineering.
