Base Salary
$93k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement significant API Platform features and services.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, technical standards, and technology evaluations.
- Write, test, review, and maintain high-quality production code.
- Participate in on-call rotations, debugging, production issue resolution, and technical debt reduction.
- Own features and components from design through production.
- Mentor less experienced engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
- Support onboarding, interviewing, hiring, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Partner with other engineering teams to understand their needs and help them integrate with the API Platform.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of web development experience.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks, preferably React and Next.js.
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience owning features or components from design through production.
- Clear communication of technical concepts to teammates and partners.
- Experience mentoring or supporting the growth of other engineers.
- Experience working on production systems with real-world scale and reliability needs.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; alternatively, a high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Preferred: 2+ years of API development experience, front-end architecture and design systems experience, developer tools, libraries, or platform development experience, web performance optimization knowledge, Node.js and server-side JavaScript experience, API design and GraphQL knowledge, DevOps experience, and inclusive engineering practices.
