Base Salary
$102k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and maintain cloud-scale services and platform components.
- Build security, compliance, management, and reliability features for internal and customer-facing services.
- Collaborate with security, operations, program management, and compliance teams on end-to-end solutions.
- Investigate live-site issues and participate in 24x7 on-call rotations for service health and incident response.
- Apply secure-by-design principles, threat modeling, and defense-in-depth throughout development.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code and gradually take on broader technical ownership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree and 3+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience building and supporting large-scale production services with logging, monitoring, alerting, reliability, and availability requirements.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps systems, source code management, CI/CD pipelines, and code review tools.
- Strong debugging skills across operating systems, applications, and cloud environments, plus familiarity with cloud computing, virtual machines, and networking.
- Experience with cloud security disciplines such as event collection, monitoring, detection engineering, or vulnerability management.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with SCI access based on an SSBI with polygraph.
- U.S. citizenship verification and successful Microsoft Cloud background checks are required.

- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $102,100–$202,200 per year; a separate range applies to the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.
