Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop, review, debug, test, and maintain product feature code for scalable Microsoft Defender cloud services.
- Design solution features, contribute to architecture and design documents, and address performance, resiliency, reliability, security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Create test strategies, expand automated test coverage, and perform security and regression testing.
- Build deployment and production automation, safely flight and release features, and contribute to rollback and disaster recovery planning.
- Operate live-site services through rotational on-call support, telemetry, monitoring, incident response, mitigation, and post-incident improvements.
- Collaborate with partner teams, product managers, security specialists, architects, and data scientists to understand requirements and measure feature impact.
- Apply security engineering practices, threat modeling, security monitoring, compliance controls, and least-access principles throughout the software lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with SCI access based on an SSBI with Polygraph.
- U.S. citizenship verification is required because the role supports government agency customers subject to citizenship-based restrictions.
- Successful completion of the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Preferred: master's degree and 3+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor's degree and 5+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience building and operating services on Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms.
Benefits
- Typical U.S. base pay range is $102,100-$202,200 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area range of $133,800-$219,200 per year.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
