Base Salary
$102k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate storage services and resource-provider APIs on Azure Data Lake Storage and Cosmos DB.
- Own services end to end, including architecture, coding, deployment, on-call operations, live-site health, and postmortems.
- Partner with engineering teams to onboard scenarios and define platform boundaries.
- Drive storage tiering, capacity planning, telemetry, cost optimization, and performance engineering.
- Use AI-assisted development and agentic development loops, and share effective practices with the team and partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to pass Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience includes building and operating distributed services or data platforms in production, with expertise in data structures, concurrency, API design, and distributed systems.
- Preferred experience includes cloud storage, NoSQL databases, Azure Data Lake Storage, Cosmos DB, Azure Resource Manager-style resource providers, observability, telemetry pipelines, analytics, search or vector retrieval, and AI or agent workloads.
- Preferred candidates have experience with on-call operations, incident response, reliability or cost improvements, cross-team technical decision-making, and AI-assisted software development.
Benefits
- U.S. base pay is listed as $102,100–$202,200 per year, with a separate $133,800–$219,200 annual range for specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan locations; certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position is open for a minimum of 5 days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
