Base Salary
$170k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive architectural decisions across multiple teams.
- Identify and resolve high-priority technical risks and bottlenecks.
- Own the technical direction of cross-team initiatives from inception to delivery.
- Establish and champion engineering standards and best practices.
- Contribute production-quality code to critical features and services.
- Lead major refactors and modernization efforts.
- Write and review Kubernetes manifests and CI/CD configurations.
- Implement and promote automated testing strategies.
- Serve as a technical mentor to other engineers.
- Lead internal tech talks and documentation efforts.
- Participate in the engineering hiring process.
- Partner with Product Owners to shape roadmap priorities.
- Communicate technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with DevOps to improve infrastructure automation.
- Represent engineering in cross-functional planning forums.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years at a senior or staff level in a product-focused organization.
- Deep expertise in Python and a modern web framework.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex technical initiatives.
- Strong command of distributed systems concepts.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes and modern CI/CD toolchains.
- Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar databases.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A track record of improving engineering culture and practices.
