Base Salary

$117k - $146k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate services and automations supporting Kubernetes clusters at scale under senior-engineer guidance.
  • Translate well-scoped tasks into working code in collaboration with product management and technical leadership.
  • Participate in code reviews and apply established coding, unit-testing, and integration-testing standards.
  • Maintain AWS and Azure cloud configurations using Terraform-based infrastructure as code.
  • Improve observability through metrics, alerts, and basic distributed tracing across core data pipelines.
  • Identify technical debt, bugs, and small-scale system issues while developing clean architectural practices.
  • Participate in sprint planning, seek mentorship, and share knowledge with peers.

Requirements

  • 1-2+ years of professional software engineering experience, including exposure to building or operating backend services using Kubernetes.
  • Basic Kubernetes knowledge covering deployments, pods, and services; deep production-scale cluster-upgrade experience is not required.
  • Practical experience with, or strong desire to learn, AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.
  • Exposure to GitOps workflows such as ArgoCD and CI/CD pipelines such as Harness or an equivalent platform.
  • Working knowledge of at least one of Shell, Terraform, YAML, or Go, with willingness to develop proficiency in the others.
  • Some cloud infrastructure experience, ideally with AWS services such as EC2, S3, and EKS or Microsoft Azure equivalents such as Virtual Machines, Blob Storage, and AKS.
  • Basic familiarity with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Foundational understanding of distributed datastores, caching layers, or asynchronous event streaming such as Kafka.
  • Solid computer science fundamentals and data structures knowledge.
  • Preferred exposure to Docker, advanced deployment strategies, OPA/Gatekeeper, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, network topology, proxy layers, MTA protocols, distributed datastores, caching, event streaming, and multi-cloud environments.
