Base Salary

$150k - $225k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy high-quality code across the data platform.
  • Collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones.
  • Support data cataloging, analytics, and ETL/ELT pipeline capabilities.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and implement improvements with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Build and support services handling structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data including audio, video, text, and images.
  • Participate in production on-call rotations and troubleshoot critical issues.
  • Document the platform and maintain clarity for internal consumers.
  • Present work in team demos and represent engineering contributions in internal discussions.
  • Apply testing, monitoring, and deployment best practices to support platform reliability.
  • Ramp up on the technology stack, contribute to core platform features, participate in reviews, and own medium-scope features end-to-end within the first 90 days.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
  • 3+ years of direct experience developing scalable, distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one of Scala, Java, or Python.
  • Experience building or maintaining cloud-based applications or services, with AWS preferred and GCP a plus.
  • Exposure to event streaming platforms such as Kafka, Kinesis, or SQS and data ingestion.
  • Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Apache Flink.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability best practices.
  • Comfort working in a globally distributed team and participating in production on-call rotations.
  • Nice-to-have experience with Databricks or similar unified data platforms, unstructured data formats, data cataloging, lineage and metadata tools, and platform-scale ETL, analytics, or data quality features.
  • Knowledge of GCP or multi-cloud environments and interest in scalability and reliability challenges.
