Responsibilities
- Lead cloud operations across AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments, including optimization and incident response.
- Plan and execute migrations from on-premises data centers and Azure into AWS.
- Design and implement automation, self-healing, and auto-remediation to reduce manual toil and improve reliability.
- Architect and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform and version-control workflows through GitHub and Spotify Backstage.
- Design, document, and test disaster recovery, backup, failover, and business-continuity strategies.
- Establish Linux and Windows server administration, patching, lifecycle management, observability, SLA, and SLO standards.
- Oversee data center storage, virtualization, and capacity management while supporting hybrid cloud integrations.
- Partner with security, platform, DevEx, and application teams on reliability, governance, observability, and cost optimization.
- Mentor engineers, lead delegated initiatives independently, and grow the team’s technical depth.
- Maintain and improve Citrix or comparable DaaS solutions when applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure, or systems engineering, including hands-on AWS and Azure work.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS and Azure, Linux and Windows administration, patching, virtualization, and storage.
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform and version-control and CI/CD workflows in GitHub.
- Experience designing and implementing production automation, self-healing, and disaster recovery.
- Experience leading or supporting large-scale data center and multi-cloud migrations.
- Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, and Bash for automation and integration.
- Experience with database systems such as MSSQL or Postgres is a plus.
- Strong communication, mentoring, and independent initiative-leadership skills.
- Preferred certifications include AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect Expert, and HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
