Responsibilities

  • Set and evolve the technical direction of the cloud network platform.
  • Lead high- and low-level architecture for multi-account, multi-region, multi-geo, and hybrid-cloud connectivity.
  • Manage complex network projects and processes end to end across teams and stakeholders.
  • Reduce platform complexity through simplification, consolidation, deprecation, paved roads, and cost optimization.
  • Own operational health, complex incident response, postmortems, and technology debt strategy.
  • Drive safe network changes through gradual rollout, monitoring, rollback, and feature flags.
  • Set quality standards for infrastructure automation and infrastructure code, including testing, code review, and reusable modules.
  • Define platform observability, monitoring, controls, and SLAs.
  • Own the network security posture, segmentation, and audit controls including PCI DSS or equivalent standards.
  • Evaluate buy-versus-build decisions and new technologies based on stability, reliability, scalability, and cost.
  • Mentor IC4 and IC5 engineers and participate in hiring and cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

  • CCIE, CCNP, or equivalent experience designing, building, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex large-scale networking infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and cloud computing, preferably AWS, including AWS networking services.
  • Deep experience with IP address management, BGP and dynamic routing, firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, and hybrid connectivity at scale.
  • Strong coding skills in Python, .NET, Java, Go, or similar languages.
  • Experience leading incident response and root cause analysis for high-impact failures across team boundaries.
  • Ability to lead ambiguous, complex projects and provide strategic technical direction without formal authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking with the ability to connect platform decisions to operational efficiency, reliability, cost, and organizational strategy.
  • English proficiency sufficient to lead discussions across time zones and language boundaries.
