Responsibilities
- Architect and implement firmware solutions for embedded audio DSP/SoC systems, including low-level drivers, audio decoders, and audio DSP algorithms.
- Collaborate with product definers, hardware engineers, QA, and product teams to ensure firmware compatibility with hardware designs.
- Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures to verify firmware functionality.
- Debug hardware/firmware integration issues using debugging tools to analyze firmware behavior and troubleshoot complex problems.
- Maintain and support existing firmware by troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving issues to ensure product reliability and performance.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide best practices for firmware and software development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics, electrical, computer science engineering, or a related field.
- 14+ years of experience in firmware development, embedded systems, audio DSP/SoC, and related areas.
- Strong expertise implementing and optimizing fixed-point and floating-point audio DSP algorithms under constrained memory and MIPS resources.
- Proficiency in C and assembly language.
- Knowledge of microcontrollers, microprocessors, FPGAs, and other embedded hardware architectures.
- Experience with bare-metal programming and RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
- Experience writing low-level drivers for peripherals such as UART, SPI, I2C, and I2S/TDM.
- Proficiency with debugging tools including JTAG, GDB, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other debuggers.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
- Experience with unit, system, and integration testing, and the ability to isolate issues in a system test environment.
- Experience with Python or scripting languages and embedded AI/ML algorithms is a plus.
