ELK developer
TELUS DigitalResponsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain the enterprise logging platform.
- Develop and manage high-volume data ingestion and real-time data flows from systems, applications, and access logs.
- Design and build multi-tenant dashboards using Elasticsearch data structures.
- Conduct capacity planning and solution reviews for the ELK environment.
- Establish operational best practices for large Elastic solutions and enhance the ELK ecosystem.
- Optimize and tune Filebeat, Logstash, and the broader ELK environment to meet performance requirements.
- Investigate Elastic advancements and implement required upgrades.
- Support production Elastic applications through rotational on-call coverage.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience.
- Proficiency with ELK technologies, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Fleet, and Beats.
- Experience implementing Elastic clusters on Kubernetes using ECK.
- Strong experience with AWS and GCP, including OpenSearch.
- Experience with GitLab and Harness for CI/CD practices.
- Knowledge of scalability, resiliency, high availability, security, capacity planning, and solution reviews.
- Experience architecting Elasticsearch data structures and implementing business-data analysis solutions.
- Experience developing high-volume data ingestion and real-time data-flow processes using logging platforms and tools.
- Experience designing multi-tenant dashboard solutions and optimizing Filebeat and Logstash performance.
- Exposure to SQL and query optimization.
- Background in core Java development and UI development.
- Experience with buffering tools such as Kafka and Redis.
- Understanding of security and access-management concepts.
- Willingness to provide rotational weekend on-call support for production Elastic applications.
