Base Salary
$139k - $204k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and lead end-to-end development of highly available, concurrent distributed backend systems.
- Design and maintain high-performance APIs, caching strategies, and data models across relational and NoSQL environments.
- Build MLOps pipelines for data preprocessing, feature engineering, model deployment, and monitoring.
- Integrate LLMs and generative AI solutions into products and services.
- Implement event-driven real-time data streaming architectures using Apache Kafka.
- Monitor production systems, identify systemic risks, and drive continuous improvement.
- Mentor peers and junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend teams, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical roadmaps.
- Set technical standards, define best practices, and drive adoption of new technologies across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of related experience or a master’s degree with 4+ years of related experience.
- Experience developing in Python and at least one additional language such as Golang or TypeScript.
- Experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI or Django.
- Experience with microservices, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience using AI-assisted development environments such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
- Experience designing and maintaining production-grade APIs and data pipelines.
- Preferred experience with MLOps tools, model monitoring, and using machine learning models at scale.
- Preferred experience with Apache Kafka, real-time computing frameworks, hybrid/vector search architectures, and large-scale data pipelines.
- Preferred experience with HashiCorp Vault, performance tuning, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Strong ability to navigate ambiguity, build technical consensus, and communicate architectural concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Cisco Networking knowledge is a strong plus.
