Responsibilities
- Develop backend software and digital products for Roche’s navify healthcare platform.
- Build clean, stable, testable, performant Java backend services and AI/LLM-powered backend tools.
- Use Spring Boot, SQL, relational databases, REST, cloud services, and identity and access management technologies.
- Contribute to technical design, clean code, future-proof architectures, code reviews, test coverage, quality initiatives, and CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, product owners, and QA experts in cross-functional teams.
- Guide other engineers and share technical knowledge.
- Participate in automated testing and infrastructure-as-code activities where applicable.
- Support software quality, security, privacy, resilience, and compliance requirements for medical software.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years as a backend engineer.
- Experience with Java 21 or newer and frameworks such as Spring Boot 3 or newer.
- Strong experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Experience with OpenID Connect and Keycloak or comparable open-source identity and access management software.
- Experience building AI/LLM-powered backend services and tools.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services or another cloud provider.
- Strong interest in clean code, technical design, stable architectures, testing, and performance.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Preferred experience with automated testing using Selenium or Selenide.
- Preferred knowledge of infrastructure as code, Terraform, and GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of medical, security, and privacy regulations is a plus.
- Knowledge of diabetes or comparable healthcare industries is a plus.
