Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, test, and deliver secure, high-quality production software solutions.
- Review and debug code written by others while improving software quality, resiliency, and operational stability.
- Lead adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering tools for coding, code review, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
- Establish standards for validating AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, security, and responsible data handling.
- Identify and automate remediation of recurring software and system issues.
- Lead evaluations of external vendors, startups, and internal technologies and assess their architectural applicability.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, AWS, NoSQL, Kafka, and caching.
- Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle and practical cloud-native experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
- Preferred: knowledge of Spark.
