Responsibilities
- Design PostgreSQL schemas, partitioning strategies, sharding or archival approaches, and indexing models for multi-terabyte databases.
- Diagnose and resolve query, index, connection-pool, lock-contention, and memory-utilization bottlenecks.
- Implement batch ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming transformations, change data capture, and chunked bulk operations.
- Develop resilient, high-concurrency Java and Spring Boot microservices.
- Architect and maintain Apache Kafka event pipelines, including topic modeling, partitioning, consumer tuning, dead-letter queues, and schema evolution.
- Implement Saga and Outbox patterns, caching, distributed locking, and consistency controls across services.
- Conduct code reviews and support clean code, automated testing, documentation, and engineering quality practices.
- Build and consume secure, performant REST APIs and support Angular micro-frontend integrations.
Requirements
- 6–9 years of hands-on software development experience with large-scale backend and data-intensive distributed architectures.
- Deep expertise in Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate, Spring Cloud, and RESTful API design.
- Advanced hands-on PostgreSQL experience in large-scale deployments of 1+ TB, including query, join, window-function, and memory-parameter optimization.
- Production experience with Apache Kafka, including cluster architecture, consumer-lag monitoring, partition sizing, and Avro/JSON serialization.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts including the CAP theorem, transactions, eventual consistency, and concurrency controls.
- Proficiency with Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, automated test suites, and code scanners.
