Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain features for the Microsoft Ads Editor cross-platform desktop application.
  • Build user interfaces and backend or integration functionality using technologies including C#/.NET, React, and TypeScript.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, platform teams, and partner teams to understand requirements and deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Mentor early-career engineers and contribute technical expertise to design discussions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and documented code following Microsoft engineering standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and improve code quality and team practices.
  • Own technical OKRs for the desktop application and improve its reliability and performance.
  • Contribute to automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Participate in agile team ceremonies and support a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and version control.
  • Experience with React, TypeScript, and modern web frameworks for performant, scalable user interfaces.
  • Familiarity with Electron or cross-platform desktop application development.
  • Proficiency in C#/.NET for backend or integration work in large-scale, modular applications.
  • Debugging and troubleshooting experience across UI, API, and data layers.
  • Experience with accessibility standards, bulk data processing, offline workflows, or large-scale data editing is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, collaboration, adaptability, and mentoring skills.

  • Employees within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or a 25-mile commute of a non-U.S. country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week starting January 26, 2026, subject to local law and jurisdictional variation.
