Responsibilities
- Design and develop RBC cash trade-management systems and high-performance distributed applications.
- Build and enhance trading workflows covering trade booking, execution, and post-trade processing.
- Lead and mentor developers and raise team development standards.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, sales, trading, and other business users to translate needs into software solutions.
- Develop reusable, reliable, scalable, and low-latency systems while challenging the status quo and proposing strategic solutions.
- Provide Level 2 production support as needed.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience designing and developing distributed systems, including multi-threaded, low-latency Java systems.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience designing and developing applications with Java 17 or later and Spring.
- Business knowledge of capital-markets areas and experience supporting at least one asset class.
- Knowledge of relational databases, messaging technologies, and modern caching technologies.
- Ability to write clean, readable Java code with automated unit and integration tests.
- DevOps experience with continuous integration and delivery tools and practices.
- Ability to multitask effectively and provide timely updates.
- Preferred experience with GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, trade lifecycles, Agile development, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, pricing, risk, real-time P&L, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies.
