Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable solutions primarily with Python and some Java.
  • Build Generative AI and machine learning software, including agentic applications, LLM integrations, MCP tools and infrastructure, A2A designs, RAG solutions, vector storage, and prompt and context authoring.
  • Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions with global teams.
  • Develop new capabilities and improve services for Morgan Stanley’s strategic Trade Surveillance platform.
  • Use Generative AI coding assistants to improve development velocity and solution quality.
  • Write comprehensive unit tests and ensure code reliability and maintainability.
  • Follow Morgan Stanley SDLC standards, governance, proprietary frameworks, and best practices.
  • Participate in Agile meetings, provide project status updates, and adapt solutions to regulatory and business changes.
  • Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, Testers, and operational change partners across global locations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of overall development experience, including 5+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
  • Proven ability to write optimized, efficient, and clean code.
  • Experience using coding assistants such as Copilot, including Agent mode and Skills.
  • Experience developing Generative AI applications with LLMs, agentic implementations, MCP tools and infrastructure, A2A design and development, RAG data solutions, vector storage, and prompt and context authoring.
  • Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipeline management, containerization, and observability tools.
  • Experience with vendor or open-source agent frameworks and SDKs such as Azure Foundry and Copilot Studio.
  • Experience with UI development using Angular or React.
  • Solid knowledge of Linux or Unix and shell scripting.
  • Advanced coding and database skills, including query and code optimization.
  • Exposure to web, batch, and streaming application designs and patterns.
  • Ability to write thorough unit tests covering major logic components.
  • Experience working in global Agile Scrum teams.
  • Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
