Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve reliable and scalable Java and Spring Boot backend services across product areas and shared platform capabilities.
- Lead cross-team technical initiatives and drive engineering topics from idea through production with measurable business impact.
- Develop and operate REST and gRPC APIs, event-driven flows, and customer-facing backend solutions.
- Improve architecture, observability, performance, security, testing, and developer experience in a cloud-native environment.
- Own services in production through metrics, alerting, deployment practices, and Kubernetes-based operations.
- Collaborate with product managers and backend, web, and mobile teams across the organization.
- Mentor engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Apply AI-assisted tools thoughtfully where they improve engineering quality, speed, or developer experience.
Requirements
- Deep experience building backend services with modern Java and Spring Boot at Staff level.
- Experience designing microservices and event-driven architectures for reliability, scalability, idempotency, and maintainability.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, JPA/Hibernate, Flyway, Redis, and Kafka.
- Experience with observability, metrics, alerting, production ownership, deployment practices, and Kubernetes-based operations.
- Ability to lead cross-team technical work while remaining hands-on in implementation and architecture.
- Collaborative and product-minded approach, with willingness to work across the stack when needed.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, micro-frontends, and end-to-end feature delivery is a significant plus.
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools in a reviewable, reliable, and practical way.
