Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, test, and validate Java applications and new features aligned with business needs.
- Design, build, and support scalable solutions, user interfaces, APIs, system components, and custom application configurations.
- Perform unit and component testing, peer code reviews, defect triage, quality reviews, and post-production support.
- Provide technical support during deployments and incidents, analyze outages, assess impacts, and help resolve problems promptly.
- Translate business and technical requirements into solutions while meeting performance, quality, security, timeline, and delivery objectives.
- Document system requirements, estimates, architecture, infrastructure, security, integration, operability, risks, and lessons learned.
- Collaborate with business partners, technology teams, stakeholders, and leadership on planning, estimates, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery status.
- Follow secure coding practices, enterprise technology standards, regulatory guidelines, risk controls, and project management disciplines.
- Identify process improvements, communicate risks, support knowledge sharing, and contribute to team training and development.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience developing Java applications.
- Experience building and maintaining user interfaces and designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Experience with the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot.
- Experience using Git and CI/CD in an Agile environment, including tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
- Proficiency with engineering tools, build systems, code repositories, and IDEs/editors such as Bitbucket.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and distributed thick-client applications.
- Experience using Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools.
- Familiarity with application security concepts and secure coding practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, independent working, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.
- Undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree, or technical diploma/certificate, preferably with a strong academic background in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Preferred qualifications include C#, C++, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Salt, SQL, NoSQL, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, OAuth2, accessibility requirements, and various Agile methodologies.
