Base Salary
$209k - $286k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and direct a team of developers working on distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, cloud-native systems with high reliability, performance, and data design requirements.
- Shape system architecture, platform roadmaps, and shared-services strategies with architects and product leaders.
- Direct the design, development, testing, and implementation of AI/ML and LLM-enabled technical solutions.
- Partner with digital product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions and hyper-personalized user experiences.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, participate in technical communities, and promote modern engineering practices across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred experience includes 9+ years coding with at least two listed languages, 7+ years with at least one listed language, and 5+ years contributing to open-source frameworks.
- Preferred experience includes front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, databases, Git-based version control, cloud troubleshooting, and automated testing.
- Preferred experience includes leading large-scale cross-functional projects, mentoring senior engineers, conducting architecture reviews, and establishing coding standards and design patterns.
- Preferred experience includes observability and reliability practices, big-data ETL, generative AI coding tools, prompt engineering, and AI-enhanced features.

- Full-time annual salary ranges vary by location: $209,000-$238,500 in Richmond, VA; $229,900-$262,400 in McLean, VA; and $250,800-$286,200 in New York, NY.
