Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable distributed-system components and large-scale data-processing capabilities.
- Build fault-tolerant services with redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Develop functional, performance, load, fault-injection, and brown-out tests.
- Create and maintain alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, participate in support rotations and incident response, and conduct root-cause investigations.
- Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code tools for troubleshooting, maintenance, and cloud infrastructure management.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance practices, and change-management procedures.
- Review team implementations for scalability and collaborate across teams to deliver project objectives.
Requirements
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing distributed systems for scalability, resiliency, operability, and large-scale processing.
- Ability to implement replication, synchronization, failover, recovery, retry, circuit-breaker, and timeout mechanisms.
- Experience with testing, monitoring, telemetry, alerting, troubleshooting, automation, and operational support.
- Ability to apply security controls and support compliance and documentation standards in multi-tenant cloud environments.
- Ability to track work with minimal supervision, solve standard and non-standard problems, and collaborate across teams.
