Base Salary
$114k - $218k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, test, and maintain complex Java applications supporting Auto policy administration and related business processes.
- Troubleshoot complex application, integration, and production issues across Java, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and connected systems.
- Improve system reliability, resilience, operational stability, scalability, and supportability by addressing failure points, technical debt, and recurring incidents.
- Build observability capabilities using logging, monitoring, dashboards, metrics, and alerting.
- Lead code and design reviews, communicate technical updates, and support planning and daily operations.
- Mentor engineers on development, production support, troubleshooting, secure coding, and maintenance practices.
- Improve engineering and operational processes through automation, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, and AI-assisted capabilities.
- Identify, monitor, and control risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant education and/or experience.
- At least six years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, or similar enterprise application technologies.
- At least four years delivering technology solutions across the software systems and application development lifecycle, including leading code or design reviews.
- Experience developing and supporting containerized services using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production applications, performing root-cause analysis, and resolving issues across integrated systems.
- Experience refactoring and optimizing applications for performance, resilience, security, and operational stability.
- Experience with event-driven architecture or messaging technologies such as Kafka.
- Experience improving observability with logging, monitoring, dashboards, and alerting using Kibana, Datadog, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of secure coding practices and ability to communicate technical challenges, risks, and solutions to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with mainframe or legacy technology integrations, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering practices, AWS technologies and services, and automation or AI-assisted tools.
