Base Salary
$180k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Maintain and evolve Replit’s TypeScript monorepo, Go services, npm packages, and internal Agentic tooling.
- Own and optimize build and test pipelines to reduce build times and improve developer iteration speed.
- Drive code generation and type-safe interfaces across service boundaries using GraphQL, Protocol Buffers, gRPC, and OpenAPI.
- Establish code-quality standards with TypeScript, ESLint, Prettier, and Go linters and formatters, including custom rules and plugins.
- Improve development setup and onboarding experiences.
- Partner with platform teams on deployment processes, infrastructure integrations, and external tooling.
- Lead migrations to modern and faster development tools.
- Partner with the AI team to improve the internal Agent’s output and shape its default stack.
- Manage internal and external dependencies and represent Replit in relationships with open-source libraries.
Requirements
- Experienced software engineer with a track record of improving developer productivity at scale.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Go, and/or Nix.
- Expertise with modern build systems and toolchains such as Vite, webpack, esbuild, and Go’s build/module system.
- Proficiency with linters, formatters, testing frameworks, and code generation tools.
- Experience managing monorepos or large-scale codebases.
- Experience building self-service developer platforms used by multiple engineering teams is a plus.
- Experience with AI-native development workflows such as OpenCode, Claude Code, Cursor, or custom agent skills is a plus.
- Open-source leadership or community contributions are a plus.
- Prior tech lead experience is a plus.
