Base Salary
$219k - $271k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own CI performance, cost efficiency, and reliability end-to-end across thousands of daily builds.
- Improve CI failure analysis, triage, developer support, and incident response using modern AI tools.
- Identify integration bottlenecks and resolve them at the platform level.
- Enable engineering teams to operate efficient and reliable CI systems.
- Set technical standards for CI construction and operation and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- Have 5+ years of software engineering and programming experience, including significant platform, infrastructure, or developer-tooling experience.
- Have hands-on experience operating a distributed CI system at scale; Buildkite experience is preferred, with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar experience also relevant.
- Have working familiarity with a modern build system such as Bazel and with caching and remote execution in CI.
- Have solid knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
- Preferred qualifications include cloud compute cost analysis, AWS EC2 instance-family and spot usage, large monorepos, merge queues, Terraform, Helm, Ansible, Kubernetes, and containers.
- Demonstrate motivation, strong work ethic, and problem-solving ability.
