Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Java backend services and application programming interfaces using Spring and Spring Boot.
- Develop performant, usable user-facing features with React, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Integrate AI, machine learning, and generative AI capabilities, including model endpoint consumption, prompt and response handling, evaluation, and monitoring.
- Design database schemas, indexing strategies, and efficient queries for structured and unstructured databases.
- Deploy, troubleshoot, and improve cloud applications on Amazon Web Services.
- Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and follow secure software development practices.
- Collaborate with product, design, and platform partners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Support production systems through monitoring, incident triage, and root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- Professional experience delivering production software features independently, with guidance on larger designs.
- Strong proficiency in Java and API development.
- Experience building user interfaces with React and modern frontend patterns.
- Strong SQL proficiency with experience in database schemas, indexing, and query optimization.
- Experience using Amazon Web Services services including EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, and Identity and Access Management.
- Ability to maintain and debug software in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database-querying languages.
- Experience working across the full software development life cycle and following continuous integration, continuous delivery, resiliency, security, and agile practices.
- Ability to use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools responsibly and validate their outputs.
- Preferred experience with microservices, event-driven designs, Kafka, SQS, SNS, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, OpenTelemetry, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, vector search, REST APIs, and GraphQL.
