Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture, reliability, scalability, and governance of enterprise logging and observability platforms.
  • Design and implement resilient, high-volume log ingestion and telemetry pipelines across hybrid and cloud environments.
  • Define logging standards, schemas, retention, access controls, and auditability practices.
  • Design and integrate AI/ML capabilities for anomaly detection, log classification, predictive alerting, signal enrichment, and telemetry correlation.
  • Build and operationalize agentic AI systems for autonomous log analysis, root-cause hypothesis generation, and context-aware remediation recommendations.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, alerts, migration strategies, and compatibility assessments tailored to business and operational needs.
  • Optimize Splunk ingestion, indexing, and search processes to reduce licensing costs and improve performance.
  • Partner with platform, SRE, security, compliance, and incident-response teams to embed observability insights into operational workflows.
  • Mentor engineers and provide hands-on technical leadership for architecture and automation decisions.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of technology infrastructure engineering and solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education, or a combination of these.
  • Desired 8+ years of software engineering or platform engineering experience.
  • Deep expertise with Splunk Enterprise or Splunk Cloud, including search optimization, index design, and platform operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Cribl Stream or Cribl Edge for telemetry pipeline optimization.
  • Strong experience with Splunk ITSI, service modeling, KPIs, and episode management.
  • Hands-on experience with agentic AI frameworks or autonomous agents, including LLM-based or rule-driven systems.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering, tool-using agents, feedback loops, and guardrails.
  • Proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, Go, or Scala.
  • Experience with large, clustered, multi-site, and cloud or SaaS Splunk deployments.
  • Experience applying AI/ML techniques to operational or telemetry data.
  • Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, observability standards, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Splunk, Cribl, or cloud technology certifications are desirable.
