Responsibilities
- Perform senior-level system analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of applications and databases.
- Translate technical specifications into code for complex projects and integrate third-party products.
- Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
- Integrate data sources, APIs, and services to improve data flow and system efficiency.
- Develop and maintain backend architecture documentation.
- Implement security, data protection, and backend resilience practices.
- Collaborate with frontend teams to design backend interfaces.
- Deploy applications to development, test, and production environments and provide production support.
- Participate in design, code, and test inspections and resolve elevated issues.
- Train and mentor less-experienced staff and communicate technical considerations to cross-functional teams.
- Ensure deliverables comply with information technology and information security policies and procedures.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and backend architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or a Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science.
- Expertise in server-side development, system integration, API management, database design, optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, API development, AWS ECS, AWS Lambda, and IAM.
- Knowledge of Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, and REST API integration for the listed Java frontend skillset.
- Prior COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and mainframe debugging/support experience for the mainframe-oriented skillset.
- Knowledge of Confluence and JIRA and an aptitude for continuous process improvement.
- GraphQL, CSS, DB2, and API design are nice-to-have qualifications.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
