Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, and improve highly available Java microservices and scalable backend services.
- Own complex features from technical design through production operation and continuous improvement.
- Investigate and resolve production issues involving distributed systems, messaging, performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Improve code quality, automated testing, security, maintainability, architectural integrity, and technical-debt management.
- Guide design reviews and code reviews, establish engineering standards, mentor engineers, and share backend and cloud engineering knowledge.
- Collaborate across globally distributed teams and contribute to responsible adoption of AI-assisted development capabilities.
- Optionally act as Scrum Master to support team self-organization.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, including REST APIs, automated testing, and production-grade backend services.
- Experience designing, building, and operating scalable distributed systems that process high volumes of transactions and data.
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, SaaS applications, multi-tenancy, observability, endurance, and high availability.
- Proficiency with relational databases, SQL optimization, data modeling, and performance-focused data access patterns.
- Functional experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated deployments, and cloud operations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, engineering standards, and mentoring.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills for working across globally distributed teams.
