Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout all stages of the customer sales lifecycle.
- Build sales presentations and deliver product demonstrations focused on identity security.
- Educate developers, product managers, and C-level executives on Okta’s platform and solutions.
- Identify customers’ technical needs through detailed questioning and present solutions that address those needs.
- Advise enterprise and strategic customers on what is possible using Okta’s Identity Platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and travel to meet customers.
Requirements
- Experience in PreSales, such as Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or PreSales Consultant.
- Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly, including in whiteboard discussions.
- Knowledge of at least one network security protocol, such as OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, or LDAP.
- Knowledge of identity governance and administration, including identity lifecycle management, access reviews, RBAC, and policy enforcement.
- Knowledge of privileged access management, including least privilege, JIT access, session monitoring, and privileged credential vaulting.
- Understanding of application security concerns including password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, and XSRF.
- Understanding of sales methodologies and best practices, including MEDDPICCC.
- Experience working with large enterprise or strategic-sector customers.
- Excellent communication skills, business-value articulation, and knowledge-sharing ability.
- Experience with Identity and Access Management, Single Sign-On, or API-based solutions is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field is preferred.
- Software development experience is preferred.
