Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions across hybrid and cloud environments.
- Build platform services, automation, APIs, and self-service capabilities using Golang, Python, or Java.
- Contribute to observability architecture, engineering standards, and patterns that improve reliability and developer productivity.
- Support large-scale deployments, platform modernization, and continuous improvement across enterprise observability platforms.
- Partner with application and infrastructure teams on instrumentation, telemetry adoption, and production readiness.
- Apply Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, and GitOps practices to improve platform reliability and repeatability.
- Participate in root cause analysis, performance optimization, capacity planning, and resiliency improvements.
- Collaborate on design discussions, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience and a bachelor’s degree, or at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience developing production software with Golang, Python, or Java.
- Experience designing, building, or operating distributed systems or platform services.
- Understanding of system architecture, reliability, performance, security, and automation principles.
- Experience collaborating across engineering teams and communicating technical concepts clearly.
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to learn new technologies and solve complex engineering problems.
- Experience with observability concepts across metrics, logs, and traces is preferred.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Fluent Bit, Elastic/OpenSearch, Splunk, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Ansible, GitOps, CI/CD automation, or equivalent platforms is preferred.
- Experience operating or scaling platforms in AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid environments is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
