Base Salary

$86k - $158k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design, development, enhancement, modernization, and support of complex enterprise applications running on IBM z/OS.
  • Develop and support online and batch applications using COBOL, CICS, and JCL.
  • Coordinate software development lifecycle activities including coding, testing, debugging, implementation, documentation, maintenance, and production support.
  • Analyze, refactor, and modernize legacy codebases while preserving performance, availability, and business functionality.
  • Resolve complex production and application issues through root cause analysis and technical problem solving.
  • Manage application deployments using Endevor or comparable mainframe source-control and promotion tools.
  • Support and monitor batch processing with scheduling tools such as CA-7 and Control-M.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, code reviews, design reviews, and architectural guidance to development team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant or direct industry experience.
  • Advanced hands-on experience developing and maintaining COBOL applications, including Batch COBOL and CICS COBOL.
  • Strong experience with IBM z/OS, CICS, JCL, enterprise batch processing, and complex legacy application modernization.
  • Experience with Endevor or similar source-control and deployment solutions, CA-7 or Control-M, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, File-AID, and EZTrieve.
  • Experience with ACF2 principles, access controls, regulatory compliance, and highly regulated financial-services or comparable environments.
  • Experience supporting or developing applications in a Hogan mainframe banking environment is preferred.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, mentorship, architectural guidance, development oversight, and continuous improvement.
  • Comparable combinations of education, job-specific certifications, and experience, including military service, may be considered in lieu of a degree.
