Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise software using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and microservices.
Serve as technical lead for a team of 5–10 onshore and offshore engineers.
Establish engineering standards, code quality practices, and development methodologies.
Drive technical decisions, architecture discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
Design and develop high-performance backend services and APIs.
Build event-driven solutions with Kafka for real-time processing and system integration.
Develop and maintain microservices supporting business capabilities and customer-facing applications.
Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead root-cause analysis and resolution.
Provide technical guidance, coaching, mentoring, and support to engineers.
Coordinate Agile delivery, technical dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines across distributed teams.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, DevOps, QA, and business stakeholders.
Align business strategy with software solutions and propose, design, and code solutions for complex business needs.
Oversee required technical and procedural documentation and lead complex problem solving.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend development focus.
5+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise applications with Java and Spring Boot.
Expert-level Java development experience and required rules engine development experience.
Experience leading technical teams of 5–10 engineers, including onshore and offshore resources.
Extensive experience building and deploying microservices-based architectures.
Strong experience implementing event-driven solutions with Kafka.
Deep understanding of API design, distributed systems, and the Spring ecosystem.
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering talent.
Ability to balance hands-on development with technical leadership responsibilities.
Experience with business rules management tools is preferred.
Experience with generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot is a plus.
Experience evaluating AI-assisted development practices is a plus.
Cloud platform experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
Experience in banking or other highly regulated industries is a plus.
A comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
