
Senior QA Engineer, Digital Assets

Base Salary
$180k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design comprehensive test strategies for digital asset trading workflows including order lifecycle, settlement, custody, and reconciliation
- Build and maintain automated API and backend test suites using Java, Cucumber BDD, Rest-Assured, and Maven within CI/CD pipelines
- Validate third-party crypto custodian and infrastructure integrations, including key management, transaction signing, and webhook callbacks
- Develop Kafka-based validation frameworks for trade execution, ledger updates, and compliance event flows across microservices
- Test AML/KYC transaction monitoring, Travel Rule processes, SAR filing triggers, and OFAC or sanctions screening
- Maintain environment-specific test configurations across development, UAT, and production-like AWS environments
- Contribute to Allure TestOps dashboards and reporting for regression health and release readiness
- Partner with DevOps to integrate testing into deployment pipelines and establish release quality gates
- Participate in incident triage and root cause analysis, creating regression tests for production issues
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote testing best practices across the Digital Assets engineering group
Requirements
- 10+ years of software quality assurance experience, including at least 2 years focused on backend/API test automation
- Hands-on experience with Java 11+, Cucumber BDD, Rest-Assured, and Maven
- Experience testing financial services or fintech platforms involving order management, trade execution, ledgers, accounting, or payments
- Experience integrating with or testing crypto custodians such as Fireblocks, BitGo, Coinbase Prime, or Circle
- Knowledge of blockchain fundamentals, wallet infrastructure, custody models, and on-chain versus off-chain settlement
- Experience testing event-driven architectures with Kafka or similar message brokers
- Proficiency with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, AWS ECS, and AWS EKS
- Understanding of API testing patterns, schema validation, and contract testing
- Familiarity with FinCEN, state money transmitter requirements, and the Travel Rule
- Preferred experience includes 7+ years of QA automation, Java or Python automation frameworks, SQL, relational or non-relational databases, FIX protocol, regulatory reporting systems, data validation tools, Kafka or SQS, XML, CSV, JSON, and GitLab CI
