Base Salary
$83k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Assess and improve database performance, scalability, indexing strategies, partitioning, query plans, and SQL execution.
- Collaborate with software teams, source-system owners, reporting teams, and data consumers to design scalable database solutions and ensure data integrity.
- Translate analytical and reporting requirements into logical and physical data models and maintain ERDs, definitions, mappings, naming standards, and documentation.
- Develop and maintain tables, views, indexes, materialized views, sequences, stored procedures, functions, packages, and database-side ETL logic.
- Implement validation checks, reconciliation logic, exception handling, data-quality controls, metadata governance, data dictionaries, and reference/master-data rules.
- Build and optimize Unix/Linux batch pipelines and scheduling dependencies; monitor loads, troubleshoot failures, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Support data stewardship, access controls, auditability, impact analysis, compatibility planning, controlled deployments, and long-term remediation of recurring data and performance issues.
- Develop scalable automation and AI agentic workflows using Unix, PL/SQL, and Python.
- Investigate production issues by reviewing code and Splunk logs and work with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience with Oracle and exposure to Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
- Strong PL/SQL development, advanced SQL, SQL tuning, execution-plan analysis, indexing, and performance-optimization skills.
- Production-grade data engineering experience, including ETL extraction, transformation, controls, auditability, and restartability.
- Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux batch pipelines, shell scripting, Python, and Unix command-line tools.
- Experience handling large datasets with strong data-quality, reconciliation, reliability, troubleshooting, and performance-bottleneck skills.
- Experience with RESTful web services, microservices-based scalable architecture, and Kafka.
- Experience with AI agentic workflows and automation, ETL tools, GitLab CI/CD, and JIRA.
- Experience with SDLC and DevOps processes, Git, production support, coding standards, best practices, and technical documentation.
- Financial-services experience involving securities, corporate actions, pricing, transactions, fund accounting, or Eagle suite products is preferred.
- Experience implementing caching with Hazelcast or Redis is a plus.
