Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, business developers, account managers, and customers to understand feature requirements and business problems.
- Design data and software structures by extending the CisionOne architecture or adding new components.
- Evaluate external libraries, services, and APIs to accelerate development.
- Develop and review version-controlled backend and frontend code using Ruby on Rails and VueJS.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot responsibly and review generated code for quality, security, and correctness.
- Write automated unit and end-to-end tests and participate in automated and peer code reviews.
- Deploy code to preview, staging, and production environments and monitor for unexpected behavior.
- Investigate and resolve feature and performance issues reported by internal and external users.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of software engineering experience.
- Experience working with Ruby on Rails, VueJS, and relevant backend and frontend technologies.
- Ability to use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot responsibly and effectively.
- Ability to lead and/or deliver complex software systems.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of software engineering best practices and the ability to advise accordingly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred: DevOps experience, particularly with Kubernetes and Elasticsearch.
- Preferred: experience in media, news, or content.
- Preferred: experience with Excel, project management tools, CRM tools, or Boolean Search.
