Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end backend solutions for accommodation applications.
- Participate in technical and architecture decisions focused on simplicity, scalability, and maintainability.
- Own software from design through production operation, including monitoring and management of high-traffic applications.
- Work with MariaDB and relational databases to ensure query and modeling performance.
- Design, implement, and consume RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services.
- Collaborate with product, UX, and technical teams to align solutions with business objectives.
- Contribute to team backlog construction and prioritization from a technical and business perspective.
- Promote development best practices, continuous improvement, and code review.
- Participate in incidents, post-mortem analysis, and improvements to application resilience and observability.
Requirements
- More than six years of solid backend development experience, ideally with Java.
- Experience working with high-traffic production applications, including monitoring, stability, and performance optimization.
- Experience with relational databases such as MariaDB.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and integrating services with other technical teams.
- Experience across the full development lifecycle, including production releases, deployment, testing, and post-implementation monitoring.
- Ability to assess feature impact, track post-deployment metrics, and challenge proposals using data-informed judgment.
- Communication and negotiation skills for working with product, UX, and technical teams.
- Strong business orientation and ability to translate functional needs into technical solutions.
- Enthusiasm for or experience with AI tools.
- Preferred: experience with Scala.
- Preferred: frontend development experience with Angular or React, particularly in inner-source environments.
- Preferred: familiarity with observability tools such as logs, metrics, and alerts.
- Preferred: knowledge of non-relational databases such as MongoDB and Redis.
