Responsibilities
- Design and develop real-time embedded software, firmware, and PC/mobile software applications.
- Analyze domain-specific, low-level, and high-level requirements and create software designs.
- Develop Android solutions, including platform porting, device customization, native applications, framework services, and backend services.
- Perform unit, functional, system-level, manual, and automated software testing.
- Conduct code reviews and static code analysis according to coding guidelines.
- Troubleshoot software issues and solve complex design and implementation problems.
- Create software specifications, design documents, code comments, test cases, test reports, and release notes.
- Follow defined software development life-cycle processes.
- Develop new approaches to complex design problems.
- Mentor and train junior engineers as required by the project.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the AOSP build system, AOSP workflow, and cross-platform development of native applications.
- Knowledge of Android Framework, Android System-Vendor services, JNI, AIDL, and SELinux policy rules in the Android framework.
- Knowledge of Android HIDL for vendor-specific modules such as cameras, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, nine-axis sensors, and battery systems.
- Strong knowledge of Android porting across platforms and device-based UI and backend-service customization.
- Experience with embedded platforms using processors from Qualcomm, TI, NXP, NVIDIA, Intel, or similar vendors.
- Programming skills in C++, Java or Kotlin, and shell scripting.
- Experience with Git, SVN, JIRA, Android Studio, and related development tools.
- Strong ownership, analytical ability, learning agility, attention to quality, interpersonal skills, and communication skills.
