Responsibilities
- Collaborate with AMD architecture specialists to improve future products.
- Apply data-driven analysis to target software and system optimization efforts.
- Design and develop new AMD technologies involving hardware and software.
- Participate in new ASIC and hardware bring-up activities.
- Debug and fix existing issues and research more efficient implementation approaches.
- Develop technical relationships with peers and partners.
- Investigate performance and reliability issues across storage, networking, firmware, drivers, and applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of experience in application development in a Linux environment.
- Strong C/C++, Python, and driver, application, or firmware development experience.
- Experience in storage and networking domains, preferably including NVMe and RDMA protocol-based solutions.
- Knowledge of system-level architecture, including AXI, bridges, and memory controllers.
- Experience with embedded processors such as ARM and preferably RTOS or Zephyr.
- Experience with virtualization such as ESX, KVM, or Xen and networking frameworks such as DPDK or ODP.
- Experience with Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I2C, USB, GPIO, DDR, SDRAM, and DMA.
- Experience debugging failures on target boards.
- Knowledge of PCIe subsystem drivers, Ethernet NIC drivers, datacenter networking, offload technologies, packet processing, NFV acceleration, and RDMA is advantageous.
- Experience with debuggers, source code control systems such as GitHub, and profilers is a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, prioritization, multitasking, problem-solving, and customer-support skills.
