Base Salary
$175k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend systems and services for Sesame's product.
- Write durable software that addresses scalability, reliability, and correctness.
- Develop frameworks and libraries for other engineers to utilize.
- Manage the full lifecycle of services, including schema design and performance tuning.
- Select and operate appropriate data stores for various tasks.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Architect systems that integrate machine learning models effectively.
- Propose and prototype tools to enhance developer efficiency.
Requirements
- Expert-level programming skills in at least one language.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems fundamentals.
- Experience designing and building systems that handle real scale.
- Proficient in database engineering with experience in complex schemas.
- Familiarity with application-level protocols and networking.
- Experience deploying and running services on Kubernetes.
- Proven reliability engineering instincts from challenging on-call experiences.
- A deep interest in a specific area of software development.
