Base Salary
$217k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical roadmap, design, and execution for Reddit’s Video Ads format.
- Build new Reddit-specific interactive ad formats for Android with high performance, quality, and scalability.
- Provide technical guidance, establish Android best practices, and conduct design reviews.
- Drive projects through discovery, prototyping, testing, experimentation, and deployment.
- Mentor senior engineers across teams and improve practices for design, testing, and operational excellence.
- Partner with Product and Design to create high-impact brand advertising experiences.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of deep Android expertise with Kotlin and modern Android architectural patterns.
- Completed at least four Android development projects from ideation through production deployment.
- Prior experience in ad tech and highly interactive or rich-media mobile experiences.
- Demonstrated delivery of user-facing features where UI polish and performance are critical.
- Ability to design fault-tolerant client-side systems in complex, data-intensive environments.
- Experience using GenAI tools to improve software engineering productivity.
- Experience working with product metrics and designing and analyzing experiments, with exposure to BigQuery, HEX, or Firebase.
- Ability to work across the stack and explore AI/ML integrations when needed.
- Strong communication, organizational, prioritization, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with Video Ads, scaled peer companies, or Jetpack Compose is preferred.
