Responsibilities
- Lead the technical roadmap and execution for Reddit’s Video Ads format.
- Drive technical design and implementation of scalable Android video ads and Reddit-unique ad formats.
- Establish Android best practices and conduct design reviews.
- Lead the full development lifecycle from discovery and prototyping through testing, experimentation, and deployment.
- Mentor senior engineers across teams and establish best practices for design, testing, and operational excellence.
- Partner with Product and Design to create high-performance, high-quality advertising experiences for millions of users.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- At least 3+ years of deep Android expertise using Kotlin and modern Android architectural patterns.
- Completed at least four Android development projects from ideation through production deployment.
- Prior experience in ad tech or highly interactive and rich-media mobile experiences.
- Track record delivering user-facing features where UI polish and performance are critical.
- Ability to design fault-tolerant client-side systems in complex, data-intensive environments.
- Experience using GenAI tools to improve software engineering productivity.
- Experience designing and analyzing product experiments and working with metrics tools such as BigQuery, HEX, and Firebase.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong technical leadership, mentoring, communication, organizational, prioritization, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Video Ads, a scaled peer company, or Jetpack Compose is preferred.

- Base salary range of $217,000–$303,900 USD, plus potential equity and commission eligibility.
