Responsibilities
- Design and build end-to-end features across React UIs and Node.js/TypeScript services.
- Design and build REST APIs and work with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar SQL databases.
- Write frontend and backend tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain quality through CI/CD.
- Turn unclear requests into plans, make and explain technical decisions, and identify simpler alternatives.
- Investigate root causes of production issues and take ownership of product outcomes through build, shipment, and operation.
- Mentor teammates and collaborate with the Engineering Manager, Product, and cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of software development experience.
- Professional experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Strong REST API design and development skills.
- Good knowledge of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Solid React skills, including hooks, state management, and component design.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web performance fundamentals.
- Experience writing tests for backend and frontend code.
- Experience with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD.
- Ability to design features end to end, explain technical choices, and work independently on large, ambiguous tasks.
- Clear written and spoken English and willingness to work hybrid from the Stockholm office.
- Experience with Java, Spring or Spring Boot, message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS, Docker, AWS, GCP, or Azure is preferred.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools and knowledge of security best practices are preferred.
