Base Salary
$160k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design the architecture and technical direction of highly concurrent distributed backend systems in Go across multiple teams.
- Drive design decisions for proxy data-plane gateways and relays and control-plane services.
- Shape multi-quarter platform roadmaps with architects, product managers, and DevOps/SRE leadership.
- Guide the use of secure network protocols, cryptographic systems, credential brokering, and key management.
- Lead cross-team code and design reviews and coach engineers on performance, security, and maintainability.
- Resolve complex technical issues in distributed, multi-cloud production environments.
- Maintain architectural and technical strategy documentation and mentor engineers across the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in Go, distributed systems, and backend or network services at scale.
- Experience architecting highly concurrent distributed systems and using Go networking and cryptography libraries.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, network protocols, API design, and system-wide technical tradeoffs.
- Experience with AWS or another major cloud provider and cloud-native production deployments.
- Ability to solve complex problems, communicate advanced technical concepts, influence stakeholders, and coordinate across teams.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and serving as a recognized subject matter expert.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP; Terraform automation; CI/CD pipelines; mTLS; PKI; secrets management; credential brokering; proxying database, SSH/RDP, Kubernetes, and HTTP traffic; CLI or desktop tooling; Zero Trust; just-in-time access; and policy-as-code such as Cedar.
