Responsibilities
- Coordinate release regression, end-to-end, and non-functional testing before production implementation.
- Develop detailed Mainframe test cases and identify software defects.
- Define test environment, test data, and testing entry and exit criteria with architects, business, and IT teams.
- Ensure appropriate test automation and regression approaches are used for efficiency and reusability.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, issues, results, and impacts to QE management and stakeholders.
- Lead, develop, support, and mentor QE practitioners working in Agile teams.
- Implement and continuously improve quality engineering practices, tools, and processes.
- Manage vendors and remove or escalate testing-related roadblocks.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience leading large or complex multi-discipline initiatives.
- Related university degree or college diploma with evidence of progressive development in Quality Engineering.
- Knowledge of functional, non-functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing for Mainframe applications, including JCL, CICS, batch jobs, and DB2 database testing.
- Experience with QE best practices, back-end and front-end application testing, and test automation frameworks and tools such as Tosca and ReadyAPI.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, support, and mentor QE members in Agile teams.
- Strong organizational, planning, leadership, problem-solving, vendor management, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps tools, Jira, Confluence, and qTest or equivalent test management tools.
- Knowledge of financial services and the insurance industry.
- CSTE certification or equivalent is an asset.
- Ability to work independently, learn outside the current skill set, and approach tasks with an innovative and positive mindset.
